Los Angeles, CA (November 21, 2021) – Ahead of tonight’s “2021 American Music Awards” (AMAs), the world's largest fan-voted awards show, MRC Live & Alternative and ABC announced the night’s first group of winners during a special TikTok livestream hosted by Billboard’s Tetris Kelly and The Hollywood Reporter’s Tiffany Taylor, featuring award-winning singer-songwriter JoJo as co-host.
Taylor Swift nabbed one win during the pre-show and is still eligible for tonight's top honor, Artist of the Year. Swift, who is up against fellow global superstars Ariana Grande, BTS, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo and The Weeknd, broke her own record ahead of tonight’s show by winning a seventh time for Favorite Female Pop Artist and adding a win to top her previous record for most AMA wins of all time, now with 33. Gabby Barrett took home her first-ever American Music Awards wins, sweeping both of her categories.
Live from the AMAs red carpet, the group revealed winners in 21 categories. The remaining winners will be announced TONIGHT when Cardi B hosts the AMAs live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on ABC and streaming next day on Hulu.
Tonight’s “2021 American Music Awards” promises to be an epic night, featuring collaborations and special performances from some of today’s top artists including Bad Bunny with Tainy and Julieta Venegas, BTS, Coldplay, Olivia Rodrigo, Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, New Edition and New Kids on the Block, Diplo, Maneskin, Mickey Guyton, Tyler, The Creator, Walker Hayes, Zoe Wees, Chlöe, Givēon, Silk Sonic, and Jennifer Lopez.
