MRC Television Achieves 17 Nominations for Ozark and The Great
MRC Live & Alternative Lands Nomination for the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards
Beverly Hills (July 12, 2022) - MRC, the leading independent entertainment studio, today received 18 nominations for the 74th Emmy® Awards.
The Fourth and final season of “Ozark” received 13 nominations, bringing the series’ total nominations to 45. Series nominations include Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Jason Bateman) and Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series (Laura Linney), Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series (Julia Garner), Outstanding Guest Actor (Tom Pelphrey), and Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series (Chris Mundy). The series received additional nominations across directing, music, cinematography, and other craft categories, and leads nominations of departing series. Throughout its four seasons, the series topped Nielsen’s streaming charts and established itself as one of the top-performing originals in Netflix history.
Satirical comedy “The Great” received four nominations including Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series (Elle Fanning), Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series (Nicholas Hoult), as well as nominations in Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Period Or Fantasy Program and Outstanding Period Costumes. This year’s nominations bring the series' total nominations to six across two seasons. Earlier this year, the series received multiple nominations for both Critics Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. The second season of The Great was one of the top performing original comedies on Hulu in 2021. The third season is currently in production in the U.K. “The Great” is produced by Civic Center Media in association with MRC Television.
MRC Live & Alternative received a nomination for The 57th Academy of Country Music Awards in Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Special. The production was the studio’s first partnership with Prime Video and made history earlier this year as the first major awards show to livestream exclusively. The Academy of Country Music Awards is the longest-running country music awards show in history.
