Principal Photography to Begin This Summer in the UK
Academy Award-winning writer and director Emerald Fennell (“Promising Young Woman”) has lined up her cast for her next film, “Saltburn,” a story of obsession. Barry Keoghan (“The Batman,” “The Killing of a Sacred Deer”), Jacob Elordi (“Euphoria”) and Rosamund Pike (“I Care A Lot,” “Gone Girl”) are attached to star in the project from MRC Film. “Saltburn” is set to begin principal photography this summer in the UK and is produced by Fennell and LuckyChap Entertainment’s Josey McNamara, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie.
Barry Keoghan Bio & Headshot
Barry Keoghan most recently joined the DC Universe as The Joker in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” opposite Robert Pattinson. He can also be seen in Marvel’s new franchise “Eternals,” directed by Chloe Zhao. He plays Druig in a cast that includes Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry & Kumail Nanjiani. Keoghan also appears alongside Dev Patel and Alicia Vikander in David Lowery’s medieval feature “The Green Knight,” for A24. He will also appear in Martin McDonaugh’s next film “The Banshees of Inisherin,” also starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
The Irish actor started off 2019 with a BAFTA nomination for the “EE Rising Star Award” followed by roles in the Emmy & Golden Globe-winning HBO miniseries “Chernobyl,” as well as the Film4 feature “Calm with Horses,” which premiered at TIFF. He also recently starred in renowned documentarian Bart Layton’s first scripted feature (based on a true story) “American Animals,” which premiered at Sundance. In 2018, Keoghan was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” where he starred opposite Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman for A24. The film premiered at Cannes, where Barry was named “Cannes: Next Big Thing” by The Hollywood Reporter. He also played one of the young leads alongside Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan’s summer blockbuster “Dunkirk,” which grossed over $500 million and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Both roles earned him a spot on Variety’s “10 Actors to Watch” for 2017. Other credits include the critically-acclaimed “’71” opposite Jack O’Connell for director Yann Demange (which landed him on Screen International’s “Stars of Tomorrow” list), “Trespass Against Us,” with Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson and Rebecca Daly’s “Mammal,” opposite Rachel Griffiths, which premiered at Sundance in 2016. He’s recently wrapped shooting the WWII miniseries MASTERS OF THE AIR for Apple. Cary Joji Fukunaga is directing.

Rosamund Pike is an international stage and screen actress, who is widely known for her work as Amy Dunne in David Fincher’s “Gone Girl,” for which she received an Academy Award nomination. She also received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Marie Colvin in “A Private War” and won an Emmy for the short form series “State of the Union.” She recently won a Best Actress Golden Globe for her performance in the dark comedy “I Care A Lot.” Other notable roles have included Jane in Joe Wright’s “Pride and Prejudice,” Rosalee Quaid in Scott Cooper’s “Hostiles” and Marie Curie in Marjane’s Satrapi’s “Radioactive.” Rosamund is currently working on Amazon Studios’ adaptation of Robert Jordan’s “Wheel of Time” series, playing the iconic Moiraine Damodred.
Emerald Fennell Bio
Emerald Fennell is an Academy Award-winning writer, director, actress and author who has established herself as a prolific multihyphenate in theater, film and television.
Her latest project and directorial feature film debut, PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN, was released by Focus Features. Fennell and the film have received overwhelming critical acclaim and awards recognition including an Academy Award for “Best Original Screenplay” as well as nominations for “Best Picture” and “Best Director,” a WGA Award for “Original Screenplay,” two BAFTA Awards for “Outstanding British Film” and “Best Original Screenplay,” an Independent Spirit Award for “Best Screenplay” and a Critics’ Choice Award for “Best Original Screenplay.” Additionally, Fennell received two Golden Globe nominations for both “Best Screenplay” and “Best Director”, a DGA nomination for “Outstanding Directorial Achievement”, and a PGA nomination for the “Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer.”
Fennell can also be seen in Season 3 and 4 of Netflix’s award-winning drama series THE CROWN playing “Camilla Parker Bowles,” for which she’s received a Screen Actor’s Guild Award for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.”
Additionally, Fennell wrote the contemporary musical stage version for CINDERELLA alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, which debuted in London’s West End this past August.
Fennell previously served as a showrunner on Season 2 of KILLING EVE, for which she was nominated for two Emmys and the show was nominated for a Golden Globe. She is currently developing an original anthology series with Stoller Global Solutions and Sony TV for Showtime.
